Geriatric health care is one of the fastest growing specialties in the United States. The number of people 65 years and older (currently about 34.7 million) will double during the next 30 years and the number of Americans aged 80 and older is expected to rise from 9.2 million today to 31.6 million by the year 2050. Professional opportunities for Geriatric Health graduates are numerous and varied.

ATSU's School of Health Management (SHM) offers a 60 credit hour, 15-course distance education program culminating in a Master of Geriatric Health (M.G.H.) degree that prepares the student to be a leader in the field of Geriatric Health. The online program is designed to meet the needs of the busy professional. SHM's academic degree plan allows the student to complete the program in as little as 18 months up to 42 months.
