Aspen University, formerly known as ISIM University, is focused on helping professionals gain information and management skills in a way that doesn't interrupt their lives.
The Aspen [formerly known as ISIM] courses were among the best courses I have ever seen developed for the Internet. Our only question was which of the Aspen courses to name as the [award] winner. Each course exhibited the same high quality."
Inabeth Miller - Chairman Emeritus, U.S. Distance Learning Association
Aspen University we believe that an education should enhance your life, and career - not interfere with it. We've designed our entire university to fit your career advancement needs, your busy schedule, and all your day-to-day activities.
Aspen University was an early pioneer in distance learning. In fact Aspen was the first University to offer an accredited, 100% online MBA - back in 1987. Since then Aspen University has taught over 4000 students, bringing classes to learners via the internet.
Aspen University offers Graduate Degree Programs in business, technology and education. We also offer a Bachelor Completion Program in business administration, and Certificate Programs in information systems and project management.
Aspen offers two online study options, referred to as online interactive and online independent. Both options provide the benefits of distance education:
o The convenience of a flexible schedule
o 24-hour, 7-day-a-week access to courses
o Attendance from the privacy of your home, office, or hotel
In addition, the online interactive option extends learning opportunities
through peer-to-peer learning. Peer-to-peer learning is what happens in a learning environment where students-most of them working professionals in business and information technology fields-interact regularly with one another to share insights and experiences. Some online interactive students claim that they learn as much from one another as they do from the instructor and the course materials, and many form lasting friendships that benefit both parties professionally. Online interactive classes are offered
in 5 accelerated eight-week terms per year (see below).
Online independent students submit the same assignments as their online interactive peers and receive feedback from their instructors. They forfeit the peer-to-peer learning opportunities in favor of additional schedule flexibility, taking up to 10 weeks to complete each course.
You may enroll in up to three courses at a time, and can mix courses in both study methods (Interactive and Independent).
A minimum number of students is required for a cohort group (online interactive program). If a sufficient number of students fail to enroll in a cohort group, all students will be enrolled in an online independent course.
Aspen University is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC). The Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council is listed by the U.S. Department of Education as a nationally recognized accrediting agency, and is a recognized member of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
Aspen University offers education to students in all 50 states as well as around the globe. Aspen University may also accept credits from other accredited institutions and schools outside the USA, so you may be able to finish your degree faster than you'd thought possible.
Additionally, The Colorado Commission on Higher Education (CCHE), has authorized Aspen University to operate in Colorado as a private university under the Degree Authorization Act. The Colorado Commission on Higher Education is the state policy and coordinating board for Colorado's higher education system. The mission of the Commission is to provide access to high-quality, affordable education for all Colorado residents that is student-centered, quality driven and performance-based. We are not a member of the CCHE.
