Students will acquire a practical, real-world education from professors who are also computer science professionals. In addition to important undergraduate foundation studies, students will learn computer programming languages, computer network systems operations, and software engineering skills.

Just as in Colorado Tech Online's other Bachelor's degree programs, students can earn their BSSE in as little as 15 months*. Plus, they will earn four Professional Certificates along the way.

Professional opportunities in this field are expected to remain robust. The U.S. Department of Labor expects software engineers to be among the fastest growing occupations now through 2012. The Colorado Tech Online BSSE is designed for students wishing to maximize these opportunities in the employment market.

This degree program prepares students for future career opportunities, such as computer programmer, systems manager, software developer, technical site manager, or computer-based trainer. Courses are taught via Colorado Tech Online's revolutionary CLIMB™ Learning System and include:

Colorado Tech Online students with no previous college or military training can complete the BSSE degree program online in about 2 ½ years. Students with prior college credit, military experience or an Associate's degree may be eligible for the Colorado Tech Online Baccalaureate Degree Completion Program. In some cases, this may shorten the length of the program to 15 months*.

Professional Certificates Included in This Degree Program

Students will also earn four Professional Certificates as they work towards the completion of the Bachelor's in Software Engineering. These résumé-enhancing certificates are built into the degree program without adding any additional courses or cost. Professional Certificates progressively add to a student's educational achievements as he or she learns and gains new skills.
