The Colorado Tech Online Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering (BSSE) degree program features a concentration in Network Management. This concentration is designed to help prepare students to take advantage of an increase in the demand for qualified IT professionals with industry-current skills and knowledge in the design, implementation, administration, maintenance and management of network infrastructures.

Students enrolling in this degree program can acquire an up-to-date education taught by IT professionals with real-world skills. In addition to important undergraduate foundation studies, students can learn to:

-Install, configure, and support internal and/or external networks.
-Troubleshoot networks to determine the root causes of problems.
-Analyze the business and technical requirements for a network infrastructure and design a network infrastructure that meets these requirements.

This career-focused degree program is designed to help prepare students for future career opportunities, such as network administrator, server-side programmer, network control technician, help desk technician and many others.

Courses are taught via Colorado Tech Online's revolutionary CLIMB™ Learning System and include the following concentration courses:

-Network Infrastructure Administration
-Implementing, Managing and Maintaining a Network Infrastructure
-Network Infrastructure Design

Colorado Tech Online students with no previous college or military training can complete the BSSE degree program online in about 2 ½ years. Students with prior college credit, military experience or an Associate's degree may be eligible for the Colorado Tech Online Baccalaureate Degree Completion Program. In some cases, this may shorten the length of the program to 15 months.*

Professional Certificates Included in This Degree Program

Students will also earn four Professional Certificates as they work towards the completion of the Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering with a concentration in Network Management. These résumé-enhancing certificates are built into the degree program without adding any additional courses or tuition cost.

Professional Certificates offer students a means by which to progressively add to a student's educational achievements as he or she learns and gains new skills. This degree program includes the following certificates:

-Object-Oriented Methods
-Software Engineering Application
-Software Engineering Process
-UNIX Network Administration

*The 15-month Bachelor's degree is a 2+2 program and assumes that all Associate-level requirements have been met through an Associate degree or the equivalent. Colorado Tech Online students with no previous college experience can complete this degree in about 2 ½ years.
