The flexibility of Grantham's degree programs gives working students the opportunity to earn a college degree from the convenience of home while balancing the demands of work and family life.

Grantham University has earned the distinction as one of the oldest universities offering distance education in the United States. Recognized as a leading distance educator by graduate schools, global employers, and the United States military, Grantham has matriculated tens of thousands of technology and engineering students from around the world over the past 52 years.

Grantham University offers Associate and Bachelor of Science degree programs in Business Administration, Engineering Management, Information Systems, Software Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering Technology, and Electronics Engineering Technology. All degree programs of study at Grantham include a strong emphasis on both theory and applications. Each degree program also incorporates general studies courses to help students learn to communicate clearly, to formulate and analyze problems, and to develop well thought out solutions. General studies courses include English, economics, the humanities, social sciences, physical sciences, and business.

Grantham's faculty is comprised of distinguished educators, many of whom have graduated from, or taught at, some of the best schools in the U.S. including Harvard, MIT, The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and Stanford. Grantham management's board of advisors includes prominent scholars and leading business executives. Among them are Mr. D. Bruce Merrifield, former Assistant Secretary of Commerce under President Reagan and an endowed chair at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania; and Mr. Herbert I. London, founder, endowed chair, and former Dean of Students at New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Study. Grantham is committed to providing its students the very best education and support, and has been ranked as one of the 'Top 100 Distance Universities' in the United States.

The rich history of Grantham University developed and matured as part of the traditional college and university movement of the late 20th Century. In 1951, Grantham opened its main campus in Southern California. Within 8 years, Grantham grew to include resident campuses that spanned the United States from Seattle to Kansas City to Washington, D.C.

As interest in Grantham's degree programs extended beyond its campuses, the college developed a print based correspondence degree program to meet the demands of its geographically dispersed student body. The demand for distance education became so significant that the University eventually consolidated to one location just outside New Orleans, Louisiana, and became a true pioneer by providing an accredited college education at a distance. With this evolution, Grantham joined the ranks of a few select state universities that had been offering distance education degree programs dating as far back as the late 1800's. Like Grantham, these institutions offer both print based and electronically distributed (Internet) degree programs today.

Grantham University has designed its degree programs to meet the needs of a geographically dispersed student body by providing an accredited college education that is flexible and student-centric. You can begin taking classes anytime and progress through our degree programs as quickly as you can master the course material. Grantham currently serves students from around the world and we are honored that you are considering our institution.

As Grantham Unversity celebrates its 52nd anniversary this year, thousands of students from around the world are counted among our student body and alumni. As we pause and look back at our half-century of service to America's working students, we feel proud. As we look forward to the dawning century with the promise of technological advances waiting to be harnessed in an emerging global marketplace, we feel hopeful. Grantham University is in the business of helping those willing to study and work hard to achieve their dreams and we are proud of this tradition as we commemorate our 52nd year serving students from around the world.

Grantham University is an Accredited Member of the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC) 1601 18th Street, NW, Washington D.C. 20009, 202-234-5100.

The Accrediting Commission of the DETC is listed by the U.S. Department of Education as a nationally recognized accrediting agency, and is a recognized member of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
