If you are a busy working adult with a dream to further your career and education, earning your Associate of Arts in Psychology is the first-step toward gaining the knowledge and skills you need to achieve your professional goals.

Liberty University’s® Associate of Arts in Psychology program provides students with a foundational background for understanding relevant facts and concepts of human behavior, including the sociocultural context in which psychology emerged. Students will develop familiarity with both qualitative and quantitative methods of research, as well as methods for presenting their research, and will understand the importance of utilizing ethical principles of psychologists through psychological theory, practice, and research. Students will also learn to use critical thinking in understanding the similarities and differences between themselves and others, and will grasp the roles that gender, race, ethnicity, culture, and class play in affecting all human perspectives and experiences.

The Associate of Arts in Psychology degree serves as an excellent stepping-stone toward earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, which is also offered online through Liberty’s Distance Learning Program.

Here's what students are saying about Liberty University's Distance Learning Program:

" I am glad that I enrolled in the DLP because spiritually I grew through the program. Between 1995 and 2000, I got married, had three children, and moved twice... I also earned my MA in Counseling, which was my dream. It was hard, but it was well worth it"

—Sacia Dear

"Because of Liberty University's Distance Learning Program, I am able to assist my husband in his ministry."

—Edna Cogdell: Germany

"Because I was established in my career, I did not want to relocate in order to pursue my education. The convenience and flexibility of the program really appealed to me."

—Gary Coiro: Westerville, Ohio

"Teaching school full-time and being a single mother of three children, there was no way that I could have gone to a university ...I would have been 100 years old before I finished! I also couldn't be gone from the house late at night. The Distance Learning Program worked well for me because I could study late at night - it's convenient. It's been a big help that way."

—Lisa Gordon

Whatever your plans for the future, we can help you prepare to meet the challenge with an education that is academically excellent.
