Do you like your job, but want a promotion with greater responsibility and earning potential? Or are you in the military, and need a degree for advancement? You may want to consider obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Multidisciplinary Studies. It is designed primarily for the adult learner with multidisciplinary history through academics and/or work. This program is ideal if you want greater variety in your courses of study.

Liberty's Multidisciplinary Studies program requires 45 credit hours for the major and offers three concentrations: Religion, Psychology, and Business. As a student, you may choose to develop two or three concentrations, so long as you have a minimum of 15 credit hours in each concentration.

All students choosing the B.S. in Multidisciplinary Studies must complete the general education requirements plus additional coursework in specified concentrations. These concentrations will be developed in consultation with an academic advisor.

Multidisciplinary Checklist:

A student must be accepted into Liberty University, and Liberty must have all university/college transcripts. If a current of former Liberty University student, their account must be paid in full.

After you have been accepted, contact your advisor to determine the concentrations for which you may best qualify. Instructions will then be sent to you in order to formally request the MLDS degree.

Registrar's Office is notified of a student's interest in the MLDS program through the MLDS academic advisor.

Transcripts are evaluated to see if a student qualifies for the MLDS program. A student must have enough hours in at least two concentration areas offered through Liberty's Distance Learning Program such as business, religion, or psychology; or at least 15 hours of transferred coursework in a concentration that Liberty University does not offer externally such as government.

The student will either be accepted or denied into the MLDS program. Denial does not mean a student will lose his/her acceptance to the University. They will need to change their major to another degree program.

If a student is accepted into the program, the student will be sent a Multidisciplinary Studies program proposal to review, sign, and return to the Registrar's office.
A copy of the student's MLDS status sheet (a list of classes needed to complete the degree) will be sent to the MLDS Academic Advisor and to the student.

Here's what students are saying about Liberty University's Distance Learning Program:

" I am glad that I enrolled in the DLP because spiritually I grew through the program. Between 1995 and 2000, I got married, had three children, and moved twice... I also earned my MA in Counseling, which was my dream. It was hard, but it was well worth it"

—Sacia Dear

"Because of Liberty University's Distance Learning Program, I am able to assist my husband in his ministry."

—Edna Cogdell: Germany

"Because I was established in my career, I did not want to relocate in order to pursue my education. The convenience and flexibility of the program really appealed to me."

—Gary Coiro: Westerville, Ohio

"Teaching school full-time and being a single mother of three children, there was no way that I could have gone to a university ...I would have been 100 years old before I finished! I also couldn't be gone from the house late at night. The Distance Learning Program worked well for me because I could study late at night - it's convenient. It's been a big help that way."

—Lisa Gordon
