Today you have the opportunity to make an important decision that could significantly improve your career, impact the lives of others, and influence the future of Christian ministry. By choosing to earn your Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling through Liberty University’s® Distance Learning Program, you can set that opportunity in motion.

The Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling program prepares students to serve as staff servant-leaders involved in non-professional counseling of church members and others in a variety of ministry settings, including churches, rescue mission, and shelters. Courses provide students with a strong understanding of biblical counseling principles and strategies in order to better meet the needs of others. This degree program is well-suited for students looking to meet the requirements to serve as military chaplains for certain branches of the armed services. It may also assist students seeking professional licensure as a counselor, although it does not meet licensure requirements alone.

Here's what students are saying about Liberty University's Distance Learning Program:

" I am glad that I enrolled in the DLP because spiritually I grew through the program. Between 1995 and 2000, I got married, had three children, and moved twice... I also earned my MA in Counseling, which was my dream. It was hard, but it was well worth it"

—Sacia Dear

"Because of Liberty University's Distance Learning Program, I am able to assist my husband in his ministry."

—Edna Cogdell: Germany

"Because I was established in my career, I did not want to relocate in order to pursue my education. The convenience and flexibility of the program really appealed to me."

—Gary Coiro: Westerville, Ohio

"Teaching school full-time and being a single mother of three children, there was no way that I could have gone to a university ...I would have been 100 years old before I finished! I also couldn't be gone from the house late at night. The Distance Learning Program worked well for me because I could study late at night - it's convenient. It's been a big help that way."

—Lisa Gordon
