National Technological University has an unparalleled pedigree as a distance-learning and e-learning organization. NTU was founded in 1984 as the first accredited "virtual" university. With the support of major technology companies such as IBM, Motorola, and Hewlett-Packard, NTU was formed to deliver academic courses via unique satellite network directly to corporations' training facilities. In 1984, NTU began offering degree programs using courses supplied by seven universities. Today NTU offers several master's degree programs with courses supplied through a consortium of U.S. universities. Courses are delivered online and via CD-ROM, DVD and videotape.

Laureate Education Inc. is pleased to announce that National Technological University has become the NTU School of Engineering and Applied Science at Walden University (the "NTU School").
Once all the provisions of the merger are fully implemented, NTU will become part of a comprehensive university offering baccalaureate, master's, and doctoral degrees. The NTU School will immediately begin planning the offering of bachelor's and bachelor's completion programs for technology professionals. In addition, the NTU School will begin plans to design doctoral-level programs in several degree areas. The NTU School will focus its efforts in the computing disciplines and areas of electrical engineering and business; expand its partnerships with outstanding faculty; dedicate substantial additional resources to the development of new courses and curricula; reduce overheads; and pass on a variety of benefits and savings once the merge is complete. New students will see a commitment to an even higher level of quality in all of their courses.
