The objectives for the Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree program are:

1) to introduce Learners to the field of psychology and behavioral studies;
2) to familiarize Learners with the fundamental bodies of theoretical and applied knowledge of psychology in the core courses;
3) to provide Learners with a basic understanding of human behavior to better understand themselves and their relationships with others;
4) to enable Learners to integrate formal academic learning with their personal experiences so that learning is meaningful, personalized, and relates to their personal or professional needs;
5) to expose Learners to the diversity of the global environment.

To meet these learning objectives, you are required to satisfy courses in the following three areas: Core Psychology Courses, General Education Courses, and Elective Psychology Courses.

Admission Requirements:

Admission to the Bachelor's degree programs requires a high school diploma, completion of a GED, successfully completed college courses, or other equivalent means of verifying that the applicant is ready to begin or continue college level work. A copy of the documentation demonstrating satisfaction of this basis of admission must be sent to the Registrar prior to completion of the first semester at NCU. Alternately, conditional admission to the bachelor's degree programs is open to all applicants over the age of 18, contingent on the satisfactory completion of LS 107 as the first course.

Requirements:
The Bachelor's degree requires a total of 120 semester units.
· A minimum of 30 units of instruction must be completed through the University.
· A minimum of 39 units must be in general education with requirements in several specified areas.
· A minimum of 42 units in the Psychology degree program area with 15 of those units in the required core courses.
· Cumulative grade point average of "C", 2.0, or higher.

The University may accept a maximum of 90 semester units in transfer toward the Bachelor's degree for course work completed at an accredited college or university with a grade average of "C" or better. Up to 69 semester units may be transferred from all 2-year degree programs.
