Program Objectives:
The objective of the Center for Professional Development Website Development degree program is to upgrade the skills of technicians and designers who implement and maintain web sites.

Course content is designed around practical workplace applications. The goal is to provide a firm foundation of knowledge and skill together with industry performance standards, practices, and applications.

Program Outcomes:

Identify essential authoring tools of the web industry.
Identify web graphics formats.
Apply the principles of design to create an effective interface.
Define critical terms of the multimedia and web industries.
Apply Internet mark-up languages.
Develop web site using industry standard authoring software.
Demonstrate steps necessary to upload a site to server.

Courses are offered in a five and a half-week intensive format that requires students to complete assignments and participate in online discussions at a minimum of two days per week. Students may complete their work at any time during a 24-hour period. All courses and degree programs are developed and approved by faculty, industry advisory boards, and governing boards. Faculty participate as subject-matter experts and work with instructional designers in developing these online courses.
