This noncredit certificate degree program involves collaboration between the University of Connecticut College of Continuing Studies, the School of Business Administration and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). Designed to meet the education needs of the entry to mid-level IT staff member, the degree program includes courses that effectively integrate industry expertise with cutting edge research. Two foundation courses will be offered as an introduction to the certificate program: Overview of Healthcare Delivery Systems and Information Technology and Healthcare Information Technology Infrastructure (see below). Individuals planning to complete the entire degree program must enroll in one of these two courses before taking additional courses. The two foundation courses are designed to either introduce IT professionals to healthcare concepts or healthcare professionals to IT concepts.
