| About this School |
| Albany College of Pharmacy is a pharmaceutical college in Albany, New York, United States. It was founded in 1881 as the Department of Pharmacy of Union University. Presently, it is one of the only independent schools of pharmacy in the United States.
Along with Albany Law School, Albany Medical College, the Dudley Observatory, the Graduate College of Union University, and Union College, it is one of the constitutent entities of Union University.

Albany College Of Pharmacy Bachelor degree Biomedical Technology Clinical Laboratory Science | Albany College Of Pharmacy | ACP’s four-year B.S. in Biomedical Technology degree is focused on diagnostic laboratory professions.
During the freshman year, students in the program enjoy opportunities to explore both the Clinical Laboratory Sciences and Cytotechnology concentrations and to interact with students further along in the program. Like other programs at the College, the B.S. in Biomedical Technology offers a liberal arts core that encourages personal intellectual growth and a sense of professionalism.
Professional courses in the Clinical Laboratory Sciences concentration begin in the junior year and continue through the summer between the junior and senior years. In the fall and spring of the senior year, students spend three days a week in clinical laboratories around the Capital Region. Classes on campus on Mondays and Fridays offer not only laboratory management and molecular diagnostics, but also the opportunity to perform clinical correlations, during which students integrate the information from all clinical laboratory testing to build a comprehensive
picture of the patient's health.
Upon completion of the program, students are eligible to take a national certification examination. The opportunities open to graduates are many. The program prepares students for entry into the clinical or anatomic laboratories of hospitals, reference laboratories, or research institutions. In addition, students may pursue careers in the laboratory diagnostic, health care or pharmaceutical industry. Graduates also are well prepared for entrance into graduate, medical, dental, veterinary and law school programs. | |
