The Biblical Studies Certificate is designed for people interested in a focused study of scripture at the graduate level. It consists of a three credit foundational course in biblical interpretation followed by eight two credit courses in the various books of the bible or an additional 3 credit proseminar and six courses on the books of the bible. The certificate can be completed in two years and one summer or can take longer, depending on one's schedule. This certificate will be useful to RCIA directors, spiritual directors, religion teachers, leaders of adult scripture study, professionals seeking an update in biblical study as well as those who seek to understand the scripture for their personal growth or for their communal participation in the liturgy.

The Graduate Certificate in Pastoral Care is an 18-hour graduate level ministerial program designed to build upon the student's ministerial gifts in preparation for pastoral service in the Church and society. The goal of the program is to enhance the ministry of those offering pastoral care by increasing their knowledge and skills through the study of current theological thought from a pastoral perspective and through supervised experiences of pastoral practice. The certificate is not a license to practice pastoral care but evidence of pastoral care training.

The program will better equip directors in their ability to walk the spiritual journey with those seeking guidance. It is open to directors serving in a variety of pastoral settings. The certificate is not a license for practicing spiritual direction, but is evidence of training in this area. Certificate students will engage in supervised practice of spiritual direction that provides guidance and stimulates growth in their own spirituality and in the ability to provide spiritual direction. They will explore theoretical and practical issues in spiritual direction in the context of an integrative seminar.

The Thomistic Studies Certificate is designed for people interested in a focused study of the philosophy of Thomas Aquinas at the graduate level. The certificate is an 18-credit-hour program composed of six courses (three credits each) in philosophy. Ordinarily students will be currently in graduate programs at Aquinas Institute or one of the other consortium schools. This certificate can be completed concurrently with other degree programs. The six courses will be offered in a three-year cycle of one course a semester. Some courses will be offered more frequently to allow for more admission points. Occasionally a summer course may be offered. This concentration in Thomistic Studies will provide students of the consortium schools a unique opportunity for a sustained study of Thomas Aquinas in a Dominican theological context. Students with specialties in medieval philosophy and history will find that this program contributes significantly to their areas of interest. Theologians who may wish to round out their appropriation of early and contemporary theology will find this program helpful as well.

Preparing students for varied ministries, the Master of Divinity provides general theological education in the Roman Catholic tradition and professional skills that they will need to serve in ministry. Students in the M.Div. program learn to attend to the needs of the Church and promote social change in a manner that contributes to the common good. What kind of skills will I acquire? The Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies prepares students for ministry in a variety of pastoral settings. Through coursework in biblical studies, systematic and pastoral theology, integrative seminars, supervised practice of ministry and other learning experiences, this program integrates theology and the practice of ministry with the development of a personal pastoral identity.

The Master of Arts in Theology prepares students for teaching, for further study toward a doctorate degree in theology or for other ministries. Aquinas students may choose one of six concentrations: Biblical Studies, Historical Studies, Systematic Theology, Moral Theology, Liturgical Theology or Spirituality. How do I satisfy the degree requirements? Candidates for the Master of Arts in Theology are required to complete 36 hours of coursework and a written and oral comprehensive examination. Students choose either the thesis and foreign language option or the non-thesis option.
