The Aviation Department at ENMU-Roswell operates under a curriculum approved by the Federal Aviation Administration and teaches all of the subjects necessary for the maintenance of today’s modern, sophisticated aircraft.
Aviation Maintenance Technology is a challenging, demanding field, and the need for trained technicians is great. Graduates have the opportunity to acquire employment on a statewide or a nationwide basis. Alert, aggressive people are in high demand. Program aircraft include a MU-2D pressurized propjet and a Cessna 421 pressurized, fuel-injected, turbo-charged aircraft.
These planes allow students to gain experience in pressurized systems, bleed-air environment control, reverse thrust capability, and auto-start computers, as well as turbocharged systems in conjunction with fuel injection and propeller synchronization. This department prepares students to take and pass the federal tests to acquire their federal technician rating. This department is also accredited to provide its graduates with an associate of applied science degree or the optional certificate of occupational training. Length of the FAA approved day course is four semesters and one summer semester, with classes starting either fall or spring semesters. Length of the FAA approved evening course is five semester and two summer sessions, with classes starting fall semester only.
