Mission: To inspire, challenge and educate |
Bates Technical College Associate degree Architectural Engineering
Students prepare for employment as architectural engineering technicians, producing drawings for building permits, construction, financing approval, and interpret and apply building and energy codes, and incorporate ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) guidelines in the design of structures.
A central focus on residential design and drafting is the catalyst for a broader application of training. Students prepare structural engineering documents that prove the integrity of building components. Much of the training comes from real design projects, providing the most efficient method of employment preparation. Students may apply for numerous industry certifications. The International Code Council and the Construction Specification Institute offer testing for various certifications locally.
