he Architectural and Construction Technology Program consists of technical courses designed to develop skills related to the fields of architecture, engineering, contracting, and other design-construction fields.
Although no prior knowledge or experience is necessary to succeed in this program, prospective students should have a high school diploma or G.E.D. A background in algebra/trigonometry, drafting, computers, or construction can be helpful. In addition to drafting and detailing skills, the student will receive training in related areas, such as specifications and building codes, building mechanical and electrical systems, as well as emerging technologies in energy-efficient design. Students will receive hands-on training in Anoka Technical College's computer-aided drafting (AutoCAD) labs with access to 50+ stations.
