Associate in Sciences Degree with an Emphasis in Teaching 4-8 Middle Level (Generalist).
Students completing all courses in this plan will receive an AS degree and will be assured all courses with a grade of "C" or better will transfer into UTA's College of Education for a Bachelor of Science Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. Students will be admitted into the program with a DCCCD GPA (2) of at least 2.75. Students MUST take the THEA (Texas Higher Education Assessment) test and score at least 270 on Reading, 220 on Writing, and 230 on Math in order to be accepted into this program at UTA.
This AS plan incorporates the Core Curriculum plus 15 hours toward the degree. The AS degree will be awarded when students complete all requirements at a minimum of 63 credit hours. Students are also permitted to acquire an additional 19 hours beyond the AS degree before transferring to UTA.
