The Business Administration - Finance (A.S)program prepares students for employment and for transfer to four-year colleges and universities. The college has transfer articulation agreements with many of the four-year colleges and universities in the area. The college encourages students to meet with their advisors for additional information. This program makes a concentrated effort to demonstrate how the subject matter relates to the cultures of our diversified student population. The program places emphasis on student participation and creates an interactive forum in which to learn.
The Business Administration Department offers six high-demand academic programs,
placing graduates in a competitive position when seeking employment or transferring
to four-year academic institutions. Students qualify for entry-level positions
within their areas of concentration.
This option prepares students with general workforce skills and specialized
educational training for entry-level positions in financial services, investment
banking, financial planning, budgeting, and/or administration.
Career Outlook:
This option qualifies graduates for a variety of positions in banking, insurance,
finance, brokerage, and mutual fund operations.
Upon completetion of this option graduates will be able to:
* Understand the process of preparing a budget and recognize the value it
provides the end-user.
* Analyze the many choices available to the investor and recognize the importance
of diversifying investment options.
* Evaluate sets of financial statements using financial ratios and draw accurate
conclusions as to the strengths or weaknesses of the concern.
* Understand the mutual fund industry in order to design a comprehensive portfolio
for a wide range of investors.
