The Associate of Applied Science in Child Development consists of curriculum designed to prepare child development professionals. It can be the next step following the Certificate of Mastery in Child Development. The program prepares students for jobs in child development centers or other educational settings for young children. With electives in business, students are able to learn the key essentials of operating a child care center. The Associate of Applied Science is a terminal degree, which leads to immediate employment. Although the AAS is not primarily designed for transfer to bachelor’s degree programs, the curriculum includes a significant number of transferable credit hours for students who decide to further their education.
