|
The Christian Education concentration is combined with the General Education core and the Bible core to complete the program requirements of an Associate of Science degree.
The concentration is made up of four components:
1. Christian Ministries Core, a series of courses which give you exposure to a range of ministry fields and develop your ministry skills and outlook in a systematic way.
2. Christian Education Core, a series of courses designed to teach basic skills for anyone working in the field of Christian education.
3. Guided Electives, a “menu” of courses, any of which would prove valuable in the field of Christian education, from which you can choose based on your personal goals and interests.
4. Ministry Electives, an opportunity for you to diversify your curriculum by taking courses in a ministry field other than Christian education or to augment your Christian education degree by taking additional courses in that field.
Program Objectives
The Christian Education concentration is designed to help you accomplish several goals:
1. You will be able to function effectively as a director of a Sunday school.
2. You will be able to lead in the development and implementation of an education program for the local church.
3. You will be able to teach more effectively in the church’s teaching program.
