The Community Health Worker program, offered spring only, prepares students to work in a position as a community health worker. Community health workers provide health education, such as how to access health care, information about health plans and resource referrals. Community health workers may find employment in hospitals, clinics and community-based organizations.The program is offered as a one-semester program that combines academics and an internship in one of the above settings. A high school diploma or GED is necessary to enter the program and to obtain employment in the field.
