School Location
Computer Engineering Technology (CET) is a new technical degree program that provides a unified study of computer controlled systems. Classes are drawn from electronics engineering technology, computer technology, and communications.
CET graduates will be able to:

* Understand circuits and the use of multimeters for obtaining measurements.
* Troubleshoot industrial control circuits with motors, drives, actuators, and sensors. Students will also be trained in electrical and workplace safety.
* Link manufacturing data, such as sensor data, images, and databases between facilities via the Internet. Students will also learn to configure Web servers and design Web pages for information control and distribution.
* Implement supervisory control and data acquisition to a system using common industry application packages. Students will also study sensors and calibration techniques.
* Understand embedded micro controllers and learn to operate associated development tools.
* Understand PCs, operating systems, and the interaction of applications. Students will also learn the skills to repair, upgrade, and reconfigure PCs.
* Implement and troubleshoot LANs for general applications as well as automation systems. Students will also be trained on Windows NT and Windows 2000.
* Understand integrated manufacturing and automation applications, Programmable Logic Controllers, and ladder logic.
* Understand industrial communications networks and be able to configure devices, PLCs, and computers to communicate.
* Understand communication methods between computers. Students will also learn to create applications in Visual Basic and C.
