The Associate Science degree Criminalistics will prepare students to work in a municipal or county crime lab. Generally, state labs require bachelor’s degree in chemistry or biology. With this in mind, the criminalistics degree prepares students for a science degree at a four-year institution. The coursework is also valuable for law enforcement officers already licensed and conducting investigations for their departments. All students pursuing Minnesota Peace Officer Licensure will be required to complete a BCA background investigation.
