The fundamentals of an Early Childhood Education Program of Study should support the ever changing and growing body of knowledge and information that is uniquely relevant to the field of educational studies. An Early Childhood Education program of study at its best must establish and support this philosophy. A program of study must support and guide a student in their unique voyage towards a holistic learning experience. A program of study is obligated to ensure that all its students gain valuable learning experiences, and sufficient opportunity to exercise those experiences that will support them in the transition from student to leader within their elected profession. Blackfeet Community College would support these elements by adopting the following plan of study for Early Childhood Education.
This curricula is designed to preserve the cultural tradition and heritage of the Blackfeet People relative to Early Childhood Education by integration of traditional concepts in the course of study. The courses offered prepare the student for a Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate, a competency-based training and assessment program for current and future teachers of young children.
