This Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic program is designed to provide the training necessary for successful completion of the requirements for Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMT-P), to enable the student to take the National Registry of EMTs Paramedic Exam, and, if successful, to obtain an Alabama license. The length of the program is four semesters.
The curriculum provides a strong educational background in the area of anatomy and physiology and emergency pre-hospital care. These disciplines are combined with English, humanities, social science, and other liberal arts courses that help the graduate to work effectively in the field with a variety of people, including patients, physicians, and nursing personnel, as well as other allied professionals.
