The A.A.S. Degree Fire Protection Technology transfers into a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (BAAS) Degree program at ENMU.
The modern fire service requires personnel with comprehensive knowledge of all phases of fire protection. The Fire Protection Technology program provides instruction in general and specific areas of fire prevention, investigation, technology, and fire fighting tactics. Additional courses are offered in fire service administration, fire service management, and EMS systems and delivery.
Graduates of this program have the technical skills to function very effectively as fire service personnel at any level of fire service. Those with sufficient experience and motivation should also be able to attain supervisory or management-level positions. Many of the courses offered meet or exceed national, state, and/or regional fire fighting certification requirements (ex. Firefighter 1 and Firefighter 2).
