Geologists work to understand the complex systems at work in our planet and, through this work, to understand the origin and evolution of the landscapes that surround us. Geologists work in natural resource development, natural hazard management, environmental monitoring and pollution mitigation. Research projects encompass everything from glacier systems to volcanoes to the fossil history of the evolution of life.
