Associate degree in Health & Fitness Specialist (AAS) at Alexandria Technical College

This program will prepare students to supervise, lead, and/or develop health and fitness programs for a variety of organizations. The curriculum is a blend of entrepreneurial, business, marketing, and health and fi tness courses. Areas of study will include anatomy, physiology, nutrition, computers, business and marketing, sales and advertising, CPR, and fi rst aid. Specialty courses will include instructor education in teaching aerobic, strength, endurance, and flexibility training. Health screening, testing, and injury prevention are incorporated into the learning. Courses will prepare the student for national exam certifications such as the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Council on Exercise.
