Students prepare for jobs in hearing aid fitters and dispensers or audiometric technicians. Technical content includes professional terminology, anatomy, physiology, fitting and servicing hearing aids and patient/family education.
This program is approved by the Washington State Board of Hearing and Speech. Applicants for licensure as a hearing instrument fitter / dispenser are required to meet certain requirements which include successful completion of the state license examination and proof of completion of a degree from an approved two-year program in hearing instrument fitter / dispenser education before a license will be issued. Graduates completing the program are prepared to take the Washington State hearing aid fitter/dispenser licensing exam.
