Machine Tool Technology is the skill of producing metal, wood or plastic parts through milling, turning, drilling and grinding operations. In the Machine Tool Technology Program the students learn the layout process, setup and procedures necessary to operate lathes, grinders, and milling machines. They gain experience on the computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines which allow the machinists more productivity and greater precision. In addition, instruction is given in related blueprint reading, mathematics and precision measurement.
The demand for skilled technicians in industrial, commercial and installation applications is increasing faster than the number of people enrolled in Machine Tool Technology programs across the United States.
