The "Fast-Track" pattern of the Medical Laboratory program offers a
student the ability for completion of the MLT Associate of Applied Science degree
in 12 calendar months.
The program is designed for students who have obtained a degree in Biological
Science or a related field. All general education courses must be completed
prior to beginning the "Fast-Track" option.
The program prepares graduates to work primarily in the clinical laboratory.
However, our traditional MLTs have gained employment in a variety of laboratory
settings due to the many transferable science skills that the student receives.
This option allows the graduate to seek national certification as a clinical
lab technician/medical lab technician. This option includes an internship in
a clinical, hospital laboratory. Graduates of this option are employed in a
variety of laboratory settings.
