The purpose of this curriculum is to better prepare individuals for the rapidly changing environment of industry and manufacturing. Very broad state guidelines for the course of studies have allowed local industry’s requirements and future needs to be better incorporated into the curriculum. The Technical Studies in Nuclear Support Technology has been constructed in direct response to regional requirements allowing for a tailored educational program to be developed in a very short time frame. This format has also incorporated a work-based learning component that allows the College to provide college credit for on-the-job training such as apprenticeships, co-ops, and in-house training programs when appropriate. Graduates in a Technical Studies program may find employment in a wide variety of technology areas.
