-Degree Requirements-
A degree Philosophy provides a well-rounded liberal arts background by providing training in how to think, especially about the most important questions of life. It is a gateway to many other disciplines, professions and careers such as teaching, research, business and much more. It provides methodologies for success in continuing academic studies beyond the program as well as in careers.

Students seeking a baccalaureate degree philosophy from a college or university should obtain an A.A. degree in liberal arts. It is recommended that not more than 15 credits in philosophy be earned at ACCC to avoid any possible transfer problems. Most granters of baccalaureate degrees prefer that the upper level courses be taken at their institution. A student who successfully completes the requirements of the A.A. degree philosophy should be able to think critically about issues, create arguments that show sound reasoning, demonstrate diversity through understanding Eastern and Western philosophies, evaluate philosophy's influence on society and culture, and read and write at a sophisticates conceptual level.
