As a pipefitter, you will fabricate, install and repair piping or tubing systems that convey liquid, gas, and occasionally solid materials. Pipefitters are employed in the petroleum, chemical, and power industries as well as the food and beverage industry.
Pipefitters typically work with various hand and power tools as well as computers. They also install automatic controls used to regulate the flow in pipe systems. Due to the number of large plants in our area, graduates have continued successfully in this industry as journeyman pipefitters, supervisors, pipe designers, and pipe draftsmen.
Brazosport College emphasizes hands-on classroom training and provides individual attention. Plus you can receive college credit for on-the-job work experience through our co-op courses.
