Mission: It is the mission of Blackfeet Community College to provide transfer academic and relevant vocational programs of high quality that lead to appropriate associate degrees and certificates. Further, the college provides a core of general education instruction that results in identifiable student competence in written and oral communication, quantitative reasoning, critical analysis and logical thinking, with literacy achieved in the discourse or technology appropriate to the student’s program of study. The Small Business Management program is a two year degree program designed for students who desire to open and operate a small business entity. This two-year vocational program is designed to give the graduate the skills and knowledge necessary to successfully operate and manage a small business. Kinds of jobs available for this type of degree include sole proprietorship, working for a small business, venture capitalist, joint ventures, small business planner, entrepreneur, instructor, and small business consultant.
The goal of the Small Business Management Program is to provide students with the knowledge and skills to be able to operate, work in, or develop a small business.
The Small Business Management department at the Blackfeet Community College is here to provide students with an opportunity to participate in the economic development of the Blackfeet Reservation. It is therefore the purpose of the Small Business Management program to provide the students with the expert skills and knowledge so they can be competitive and productive in developing small businesses for our reservation communities.
This curriculum is designed to preserve the cultural tradition and heritage of the Blackfeet People relative to Small Business Management by integration of traditional concepts in the course of study.
