Mission: The mission of the American Samoa Community College is to foster successful student learning by providing educational programs and services of high quality that will enable students to achieve their educational goals and to contribute to the social, cultural, political, economic, technological, and environmental well-being of American Samoa.
To fulfill this mission, the College, as a United Stated accredited, open admissions, Land Grant institution, provides access to associate degree and certificate programs of study. These programs prepare all students including those who are educationally underserved, challenged, or non-traditional for:

The Social Science Department offers transferable courses and an Associate of Arts in Public Administration for students planning to further their education at higher institutions of learning, and prepares students for careers in history, political science, sociology, psychology, anthropology, geography and education. The department provides a diverse spectrum of courses to acquaint students with historical processes and cultural developments, interrelationships amongst peoples and the dynamics of societal elements reflected in mankind’s religious, political and technological progress. Moreover, we seek to foster in students respect, peace, justice and a quest for learning that will continue throughout their lives. The chair and faculty hope that the knowledge gained by students who take the Social Science classes will help their them live resourceful, moral and rewarding lives.
