A Social Service Technician or Social Service Assistant is a trained paraprofessional worker who assists other helping professionals such as social workers, counselors, caseworkers, and therapists. Edison's Social Service graduates may work in a wide variety of helping agencies and social service programs such as:

  • Addiction and recovery centers
  • Correctional facilities

  • Residential homes
  • Schools and workshops for developmentally disabled
  • Headstarts
  • Mental Health Centers
