Purpose:
The Polymer Manufacturing Technology program is designed to prepare students for jobs in the plastics polymers manufacturing industry. Its purpose is to provide technical knowledge and the skills necessary to function as a Polymer Manufacturing Technician in an injection molding or extrusion environment.
Occupational Objectives:
The program will prepare the student to function effectively as polymer plastics technicians in a manufacturing setting. Program Description: The program includes four educational components: namely, general education, technical foundations, content skills and knowledge, and work-based learning. The content skills and knowledge components are specific to the polymer processing industry and the work-based learning component provides experience in the workplace through an internship with a local manufacturer.
Program Requirements:
To receive the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Technical Studies– Polymer Manufacturing Technology, you must complete a minimum of 69 credits with a grade point average of 2.0 or better.
