This program is designed to train students to work in a variety of early childhood settings. The two-year program primarily serves students desiring an early childhood background, supervised student teaching experience and fulfillment of academic requirements for a Child Development Teacher Permit.
Individuals may develop a program suitable to their career goals with the aid of a college counselor. Courses may lead to the achievement of specific career goals, immediate employment, an Associate Degree, or transfer credits that satisfy requirements for a Bachelor‘s Degree in Criminology, Police Science, Correctional Administration or Fire Technology.

The program consists of specific courses related to the teaching of young children and fulfills the regulations set forth by the State of California to be certified as a child development associate.
