Associate degrees in Civil Engineering Technology + Technician: A program that prepares individuals to apply basic engineering principles and technical skills in support of civil engineers engaged in designing and executing public works projects such as highways, dams, bridges, tunnels and other facilities. Includes instruction in site analysis, structural testing procedures, field and laboratory testing procedures, plan and specification preparation, test equipment operation and maintenance, and report preparation.
This 2-year program will prepare the student to either transfer to a four-year degree program in Construction Management, or be effective as a technician on a civil engineering team in the workplace in the following areas:
The two-year program prepares the student to provide preliminary designs of public works projects and subdivision design in addition to surveying projects. The two-year program also includes basic office calculations in street, storm, and wastewater layout and design.As a graduate of the two-year program, you may assist in planning, design, and construction.
