Associate degrees in Computer Science: A general program that focuses on computers, computing problems and solutions, and the design of computer systems and user interfaces from a scientific perspective. Includes instruction in the principles of computational science, and computing theory; computer hardware design; computer development and programming; and applications to a variety of end-use situations.
This program is a comprehensive exposure to programming languages,
algorithms and problem solving in preparation for upper division computer science courses. The Computer Science degree includes substantial course work in mathematics as is required by most university computer science programs.
Designed for the student who plans to transfer to California State University system or private colleges and to specialize in computer science, math, science, or engineering applications. Students will learn professional skills leading to employment and will gain a broad educational background.
