Associate degrees in Drafting and Design Technology + Technician, General: A program that prepares individuals to generally apply technical skills to create working drawings and computer simulations for a variety of applications. Includes instruction in specification interpretation, dimensioning techniques, drafting calculations, material estimation, technical communications, computer applications, and interpersonal communications.
The Drafting Technology degree program at BTI focuses on Mechanical Drawing and Architectural Drafting. The program will provide students with skills and training to perform drafting assignments that require the use of drafting standards, symbols and nomenclature. Students will get hands-on experience in the Computer Aided Drafting lab, which has hardware and AutoCAD software similar to what is used on the job.
