Associate degrees in Drawing: A program that prepares individuals creatively and technically to express emotions, ideas, or inner visions through representation by lines made on a surface. Includes instruction in eye-hand coordination; line, value, shape, and perspective; figure and still life drawing; the use of media such as pen and ink, pencil, charcoal, pastel, and brush; and personal style development.
This Drawing/Painting program helps students to prepare for transfer to four-year colleges, initial employment or career advancement in the following areas: design, pottery, art education, art administration, fine arts production, exhibition and sales. The art program strives to be an open access, optimal learning environment for students‘ educational, cultural, and economic development in the art field.
The Art program provides preparation for university and college transfer and/or careers in fine arts, visual communications, and graphic communications/digital media, with an emphasis on individual creativity and development.
