Associate degrees in Environmental Engineering Technology + Environmental Technology: A program that prepares individuals to apply basic engineering principles and technical skills in support of engineers and other professionals engaged in developing and using indoor and outdoor environmental pollution control systems. Includes instruction in environmental safety principles, testing and sampling procedures, laboratory techniques, instrumentation calibration, safety and protection procedures, equipment maintenance, and report preparation.
Trains technicians to resolve safety and environmental issues. Concentrates on the following technical areas, safety, environmental monitoring, governmental regulations and agencies, solid hazardous waste management, chemical control, waste water, landfill management, and the transporting of hazardous materials.
The two-year Hazardous Materials Management Program will allow students to earn an Associate‘s Degree in Applied Science and prepare them for the work force. After the coursework is completed at Barton, students will be able to conduct studies on hazardous waste materials and take soil or debris samples at contaminated sites and analyze, identify, inventory, package, label and ship hazardous waste. Graduates may choose to work for the government,...
The Geospatial Technology consists of a sequence of introductory courses in geographic information systems (GIS), global positioning systems (GPS) and remote sensing (RS).
These courses will emphasize the practical use of geospatial technology to a broad range of issues such as sustainable populations growth, land use management, transportation route planning, and water-quality management.
Students in the Environmental Engineering Technology curriculum explore the relationships between the human race and the dynamic environment in which they live and examine the effects of pollution using applied math and science skills. Students also determine strategies for effectively minimizing or preventing waste in order to reduce the impact on the environment; discuss innovative solutions to environmental issues; and look at ways to improve processes...
Environmental issues affect our health and the health of our communities, as well as the health and sustainability of future generations and the earth itself. They directly affect the operations of all types of industries, including parks and forest services, transportation, chemical facilities, defense and energy, construction, and, of course, environmental services. At Cincinnati State, EVET graduates enter positions in a wide variety of industries,...
The study of Environmental Technology prepares students for work in a wide variety of environmental fields. The courses are designed to prepare students with the skills and knowledge needed to participate in environmental careers including environmental compliance in public and private sector organizations, pollution prevention, environmental remediation, workplace health and safety, and emergency response preparedness. Students will study the various...
