The A.S. degree in mathematics provides a foundation of mathematics
for students in preparation for transfer to a four-year program in mathematics or statistics. Course work includes a three semester
calculus series, differential equations, linear algebra, and statistics and/or symbolic logic.
The purpose of the Mathematics Department is to provide quality education in mathematics to support certificate and degree programs. The department offers courses in arithmetic, algebra, trigonometry, statistics, calculus and differential equations to ensure that ASCC students acquire the necessary mathematical foundation for entry into the work force or for transferring to four-year institutions.
