Associate degrees in Oceanography, Chemical and Physical: A program that focuses on the scientific study of the chemical components, mechanisms, structure, and movement of ocean waters and their interaction with terrestrial and atmospheric phenomena. The Ocean Studies program option prepares students to transfer to a four-year institution for continued study in ocean sciences and coastal studies. Ocean scientiests use their knowledge and skills to answer questions about the ocean system and the atmosphere.
Oceanographers use their knowledge of geology and geophysics, in addition to biology and chemistry, to study the world's oceans and coastal waters.
