School Location
The School of Accountancy and Management Information Systems, a division of the College of Commerce, offers a four-year program leading to a Bachelor of Science in Commerce with an accounting major. Accounting students gain excellent CPA exam preparation and receive a state-of-the-art education in contemporary business skills.

The Undergraduate Accountancy Program
Accountants analyze, interpret and communicate modern business, and are central to the decision-making process. Increasingly, they are being asked to bring their analytical and technological skills to develop business solutions to problems in all areas of organizations.

Upon conclusion of the accounting program, students will be well-prepared and well-positioned to complete the Illinois requirements to sit for the CPA exam through supplemental undergraduate study or through advanced coursework leading to a graduate degree.

A Commitment to Excellence
The undergraduate programs of the School of Accountancy lead to the Bachelor of Science in Commerce. Based on a liberal arts foundation which develops skills in communication, critical thinking, analysis and problem solving, as well as an understanding of social, economic and political issues, it also comprises a broad-based business core with courses in finance, marketing, management, business law and technology.
