The Weatherhead B.S. in Accounting is a 122-credit-hour, structured program designed to enhance critical thinking, quantitative analysis, and decision-making. Integrated study options enable attainment of a Masters of Accountancy degree in five years or less, satisfying the 150-hour requirement to sit for the CPA examination in most states.
Students in accounting often assist the faculty in their research activities, or participate in independent research projects. From this focused area of study, our graduates are recruited heavily by Big Four accounting firms as well as local and regional firms; premiere investment banks and consulting firms, and Fortune 500 firms. Weatherhead-placed internships frequently result in hiring. A recent survey of post graduation plans among accounting graduates found that 54 percent went on to graduate or professional school. Many of these graduates pursue careers in law.
