The interdisciplinary major is designed to give students a solid foundation of scientific knowledge and integrate this knowledge with science-related career choices in fields such as education, business, communication, and writing. This program will prepare students for immediate employment upon graduation. Students will also be prepared for graduate study in education, business, writing, and communication.
In education, the graduate will have a strong foundation in science that will allow her to teach current scientific concepts in an elementary classroom. Requires a double major with elementary education
In business, a strong background in the sciences will enable the graduate to apply this knowledge to the marketing and/or sales of current health-related products. This major can also be applied in management positions where scientific technologies are utilized.
In writing/communication, graduates will have the knowledge and ability to inform the general public about rapid scientific technological advances.
The student with a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Science will be qualified to enter a graduate program in her field of choice.
